To my potential clients;

English has long been the Lingua Franca of business around the world; forcing global corporations to spend large amounts of money teaching English to their staff. Less has been done on the part of American and British organizations to learn the languages of their potential trading partners. Those that do, rush their associates through language courses, running the risk of incomplete comprehension that can lead to poor communication.

In the United States, the problem is compounded by the growing population of people with limited English. According to a study published in the Minnesota Business Journal in 2003, the non-English population in the United States is estimated to be in excess of 7.7 million. This creates a vast hole in the marketplace, people that you can’t reach through English-only means. While English as a Second Language (ESL) programs are suffering budget cuts, organizations recognize the need to reach these people. The evolving global economy demands more resources for English-speaking service providers and their clients. In fact, demand for interpretation and translation services has grown at an explosive rate of 25% per year due to the increase of immigration, the changing nature of the work force, reduction in welfare benefits to immigrants and the tightening of the labor market.

Dialog One's Name

"Dialog" comes from the Greek word "dialogos.” The Greeks used this term to describe the philosophical discussions that occurred between Socrates and Plato. These philosophers considered meaningful dialogue to be an ideal—something not easily attainable. They understood that dialogue requires ideas to be communicated in a format clearly understood by others. It is often said that "dialog" is the "glue" or "cement" that holds people and societies together. Historically, meaningful dialogue occurred whenever people used a common language to communicate their thoughts and ideas. As globalization increases, and the use of multiple languages arises along with the potential for misunderstanding and miscommunication.

The word “one” not only describes itself as a united front, it also means “many in body, one in mind.” This word represents the unity to deploy value and harmony for each respective community in our society. Not only does the company name describe our “one” humanistic principal to provide services, but it also makes a clear distinction of our “one” purpose to serve our “one” community to our “many” customers.
